Here is one shot at 1/1000s. Here you can see water droplets suspended in mid-air with almost perfect clarity. This was taken on a hot but cloudy day. Plenty of light (but not too much). Unless you are taking landscape photos that involve the sky, cloud cover is a photographer's friend. It reduces shadows and bright spots.
